Terms of use

The rules for using Reflectize, in plain words: who it is for, what the AI can and cannot do, what you own, and how Premium, the free trial and cancelling work.

Agreement and who we are

These terms are an agreement between you and ANEMO BİLİŞİM TEKNOLOJİ VE TİCARET ANONİM ŞİRKETİ (Anemo Technology), Kolektif House, Esentepe Mahallesi, Talatpaşa Caddesi No: 5/1, Levent, Esentepe, İstanbul, Türkiye. “We” and “us” on this page mean Anemo Technology.

They cover the Reflectize app for iPhone and Android and this website, reflectize.app. By creating an account or using Reflectize, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Reflectize.

Our privacy policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

Who can use Reflectize

You must be at least 13 years old to use Reflectize. In some countries the minimum age is higher, for example 16 in Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands, and in some countries Reflectize is only for adults (18 and over) for now. Our privacy policy lists them, and the app checks the minimum age where you live.

If you are under the minimum age where you live, you cannot use Reflectize. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under the minimum age, we close it and delete its data.

If you are under 18, you need your parent or guardian’s permission to use Reflectize, and they should read these terms with you. They may also need to approve purchases in the App Store or Google Play.

AI chatbots, including Refy, the AI in Reflectize, may not be suitable for some minors.

What Reflectize is, and what it is not

Reflectize is a journal made for self-reflection. You write about your day, and Refy, the AI in Reflectize, replies to help you think things through and notice patterns over time.

Reflectize is a self-help tool. It is not therapy or counseling, and it does not give medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. It is not an emergency service. It does not replace a doctor, therapist, counselor or other professional.

Refy is an AI, not a person. When you chat in Reflectize, you are always talking to an AI, never to a human, and Refy does not have real feelings.

Safety and crisis support

This is how Reflectize responds when someone may be in crisis:

  • Every message you send is checked automatically for signs of suicidal thoughts, self-harm or danger.
  • If a message suggests you may be in immediate danger, Reflectize does not send an AI reply. It shows a fixed message with emergency numbers and crisis helplines instead.
  • The AI is instructed never to encourage self-harm or suicide, never to explain ways to hurt yourself, and to point you to people and services who can help.
  • Crisis helplines are always in the app under Get help now, with or without a subscription.
  • If you are under 18, the AI knows it and keeps its replies suitable for your age, and the app reminds you to take a break during long chats.

No automatic check is perfect. If you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number.

If you are under 18, a few things to keep in mind:

  • Reflectize is an AI. It can sound kind and still be wrong, and it does not know you the way the people in your life do.
  • If something is worrying you, talk to a parent, a teacher, a school counselor or another adult you trust, as well as writing about it.
  • Do not write passwords, your home address or other people’s private details in your journal.
  • Take breaks. Your journal will be there when you come back.

AI replies

  • Refy’s replies, summaries and scores are written by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic.
  • Before the first AI reply, the app asks your permission to send what you write to Anthropic for this.
  • Refy can suggest adding, changing, ticking off or deleting a goal, calendar event or note. Nothing changes until you say yes on the card it shows.
  • If you are 18 or over, you can record a voice message. ElevenLabs turns it into text for us, you can change the text before you send it, and we do not keep the recording.
  • AI replies can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. They can also miss what you meant.
  • Do not rely on them for medical, legal, money or safety decisions. You decide what to do with anything the AI says.
  • If a reply is harmful or wrong, please report it in the app or tell us at [email protected]. A short description is enough. You do not need to send any journal text.

Your account

  • You sign in with Apple or Google. Keep that sign-in safe, and tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account.
  • One account is for one person. Please do not share it.
  • You are responsible for what happens in your account.

Your content

You own what you write and add to Reflectize: your entries, chats, voice messages, photos and everything else you put in.

You give us permission to store and process your content, including sending it to our AI provider, only to run Reflectize for you. That means saving your journal, writing replies and summaries, and remembering what matters to you so later entries can build on earlier ones. We do not sell your content, we do not use it for ads, and we do not use it to train AI models. Anthropic does not train its models on it either. Neither does ElevenLabs, which turns voice messages into text.

Our privacy policy explains what we collect, who helps us process it, and how long we keep it.

Acceptable use

When you use Reflectize, please do not:

  • Add or share anything illegal.
  • Use Reflectize to harm, threaten or harass other people.
  • Try to break, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the app, the website or our servers, or get around the limits below or the AI’s safety rules.
  • Use someone else’s account, or let others use yours.
  • Use Reflectize if you are under the minimum age where you live.
  • Record someone else’s voice in a voice message without their permission, or record anyone under 18.

To keep Reflectize working well for everyone, there is a generous daily fair-use limit on AI replies. It applies to every plan, including the free trial, and it resets each day. Voice messages have their own daily limit. Both limits are set on our servers and can change over time.

Reflectize Premium

Reflectize Premium is our subscription. These need an active subscription, either the free trial or a paid plan:

  • New AI reflections.
  • Chat replies.
  • Voice messages.
  • Summaries and recaps for new entries.

These stay free, with or without a subscription:

  • Your first reflection during onboarding.
  • Reading your past entries.
  • Exporting your journal.
  • Deleting your account.
  • Your settings.
  • Crisis helplines under Get help now.

If a renewal payment fails and the App Store or Google Play gives you a grace period to fix it, Premium keeps working during that time.

Plans, prices and the free trial

  • Premium is a subscription. The app shows you the plans available to you, such as monthly or yearly, before you subscribe.
  • Some plans can come with a free trial for eligible new subscribers. The app shows whether a trial is offered and how long it lasts before you start it. The App Store or Google Play decides who is eligible, for example one trial per person.
  • Prices differ from country to country and can change over time. Before you pay, the app and the App Store or Google Play show you the price for your country, in your local currency. Depending on where you live, the price can include taxes such as VAT. If the price of your plan changes, the App Store or Google Play tells you before the new price applies.
  • From time to time we may offer a discount. Its terms are shown to you before you accept it.

Billing and auto-renewal

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account when you confirm the purchase. If you start the free trial, the first payment is charged when the trial ends.
  • Your subscription renews automatically at the same length and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • On the App Store, the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the current period ends. On Google Play, it is charged when the new period starts.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. After you cancel, Premium keeps working until the end of the period you paid for.

How to cancel

On iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open Settings and tap your name.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Choose Reflectize.
  4. Tap Cancel Subscription.

On Android:

  1. Open the Google Play app and tap your profile icon.
  2. Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  3. Choose Reflectize.
  4. Tap Cancel subscription.

Deleting the app or your Reflectize account does not cancel your subscription. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial ends, you are not charged.

Refunds

Apple and Google take every payment for Reflectize, so refunds go through them, under their own rules. We cannot refund store purchases ourselves.

If you live in the EU or the UK, you may also have a legal right to cancel a purchase within 14 days. You use it through Apple or Google in the same way. If you live in Türkiye, Premium starts as soon as you buy it, so the 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts does not apply to it (Distance Contracts Regulation, Article 15(1)(ğ)). You can still turn off renewal at any time. Nothing in these terms takes away the rights the law gives you as a consumer.

Price changes

If we change the price of a plan, you hear about it in advance, as the App Store and Google Play require. If you do not want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it applies to you.

App store terms

If you got Reflectize from Apple’s App Store:

  • Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement gives you the license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control. These terms cover everything else: your account, your content, the AI, safety and Premium. Where the two differ on those topics, these terms apply.
  • These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for Reflectize and its content, including AI replies, for supporting it, and for handling any claim about it, such as a product liability, consumer protection, privacy or intellectual property claim.
  • If the app does not work as promised, you can tell Apple, and Apple may refund the price you paid for it. Apple has no other warranty duty for the app.
  • You confirm that you are not in a country under a US government embargo and not on a US government list of restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce this section against you.

If you got Reflectize from Google Play, your purchases are also covered by the Google Play Terms of Service, and Google is not responsible for Reflectize or its content.

Changes to Reflectize, and ending your use

  • We keep working on Reflectize, so features can change, and some can be added or removed.
  • You can stop using Reflectize and delete your account at any time. Remember to cancel your subscription in the store too.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we do, we tell you why, unless the law or safety stops us.
  • If we ever stop offering Reflectize, we tell you at least 30 days before, so you have time to export your journal.

Disclaimers and liability

We work hard to keep Reflectize running and useful, but we cannot promise it will always be available, free of errors, or right for your needs. To the extent the law allows, we provide Reflectize as it is.

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably foresee, or for decisions you make based on an AI reply. Also to the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for all claims about Reflectize is limited to the amount you paid for Reflectize in the 12 months before the claim, or 50 US dollars if that is more.

These limits do not apply to harm we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, to fraud, to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or to anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. If something goes wrong, please write to us first at [email protected], so we can try to sort it out together.

  • If you live in Türkiye, you can take a complaint to the consumer arbitration committee (Tüketici Hakem Heyeti) or the consumer court where you live or where you bought Premium, within the limits the law sets each year. For larger claims, the law asks you to try mediation before going to court.
  • If you live somewhere else, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts there.
  • If you use Reflectize for a business, disputes go to the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul (Çağlayan).

Other legal terms

  • If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
  • If we do not enforce a part of these terms straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over Reflectize. If we do, we tell you, and your rights under these terms stay the same.
  • These terms, our privacy policy and, if you got the app from the App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement are the whole agreement between you and us about Reflectize.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. If a change matters for how you use Reflectize or what you pay, we tell you in the app or by email before it applies.
